By contributing to the Caritas Czech Republic appeal, we are responding to the aftermath of the earthquake in South America.
Venezuela is recovering from the devastating natural disaster. In June, the country was hit in quick succession by two exceptionally powerful earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale. The tragedy has claimed a large number of lives, with tens of thousands more reported missing and fears that the current toll may still rise.
The situation on-site is exceptionally severe. Rescue operations in tropical conditions are being hindered by missing technical infrastructure as well as the challenging situation within the country. Knowing that solidarity is crucial in these urgent times, we have chosen to take action and contribute CZK 1,000,000 to the Caritas Czech Republic collection.
The main objective of our assistance is to provide swift and targeted support to those in greatest need. The financial contribution is directed to Caritas Venezuela. Their teams are operating directly at the epicenter of the tragedy, securing the distribution of drinking water, food, hygiene products, temporary shelter, and essential healthcare.
