Onom@topic+: European Smart Card Platform for Citizenship and Mobile Multimedia Applications

Project Onom@Topic+

The Onom@Topic+ international research and development project, (led by MEDEA+/EUREKA), was completed at the end of 2007. The project resulted in a platform for using smart cards to identify documents within the EU. The project’s overall capacity was more than 300 man-years. OKsystem, representing the Czech Republic, developed and implemented “Smart card middleware and embedded interfaces”.

During the annual MEDEA+ Forum in Budapest in 2007, the MEDEA+ Board recognized OKsystem for the Onom@Topic+ project by awarding us the Jean-Pierre Noblac Award for Excellence for project of the year. This was the first time that this award was given to a smart card project.

The Onom@Topic+ project was also recognized as the best international cluster project awarding us by the EUREKA 2010 Innovation Award. Project Onom@Topic+ was also awarded the best international project of EUREKA 2010 Innovation Award.
